PHARMACEUTICO –ANALYTICAL STUDY OF VRISHYA KSHEERA GRANULES- A NEW DOSAGE FORM

ABSTRACT

Modification of ancient dosage forms and development of new dosage forms is a continuous process which has significant contribution in flourishing science with changing life style in the favor of people. Preparation of granules or Khandakalpana is one of the emerging ways for new dosage forms. Vrishyaksheera yoga is a polyherbal formulation mentioned in the context of Vajikarana. Considering the inconveniences of Ksheerapaka being vast in number, an attempt has been made to convert it into granule which is convenient for handling, dispensing and storage. vrishyaksheera yoga granule were prepared and analyzed as per Ayurvedic Pharmacopeia of India(API). The time required for the preparation of vrishya ksheera yoga granules was 8 hours. The analytical study conducted gave the values of organoleptic characteristics, physico-chemical characteristics, TLC analysis, Fluorescent analysis, phytochemical analysis which was observed.
