Abstract

AN OBSERVATIONAL STUDY REGARDING VARIOUS ETIOLOGICAL FACTORS IN MUTRAKRICHHRA

ABSTRACT

All the aggravated Doshas due to their various Naidanika factors reaches Basti & especially Apana Vata get lodged in urinary tract producing obstruction & difficulty in micturition. This study mainly aims to assess the etiological factors in Mutrakrichhra which are already mentioned in Samhitas also some other Naidanika factors which were seen during study have been mentioned. Methods: An observational study was conducted in Rishikul Campus Haridwar among 40 patients. Data obtained was later assessed based upon diet & lifestyle related etiological factors in patients having Mutrakrichhra. Results: Majority of the patients were of age group 31-40 years of age. Most common Aharaj etiological factor observed in study was (52.5%) irregular diet, (55%) were addicted to tea/coffee, (27.5%) of the patients were addicted to alcohol, (22.5%) smoking and while Viharaj Nidana such as exercise, prolonged driving (26%) of patients. Conclusion: It is concluded that Mutrakrichhra can be understood as a state of impaired health of Mutravahasrotasa. This affliction could be due to excessive Vyayama, Vega Dharana, Dhatukshaya, Abhikshata & unhygienic condition. People who are in habit of lack of exercise are also susceptible. Psychological imbalance in the form of anxiety was also noticed as one of the causes for Mutrakrichhra.
