REVIEW ON FEATURES AND MANAGEMENT OF MONKEYPOX

ABSTRACT
Monkeypox is one of the emerging zoonotic disease after the fear of the coronavirus disease 2019. Since there is an outbreak of monkeypox in 2022, this has been identified as infectious disease with epidemic potential. Monkeypox belongs to Orthopoxvirus genus of the Poxviridae family. Since there is increase in occurrence of human outbreaks the aim of healthcare professionals is to have understanding of awareness and management related to this infection. First case of monkeypox was developed in 1970 after eradication of small pox. Symptoms of monkeypox are similar to small pox but milder, monkeypox is rarely fatal. The present review focuses on epidemiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, management of monkeypox.
