ANALYTICAL REVIEW ARTICLE OF AMAVATA WSR RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS

ABSTRACT

Amavata is a pain predominant joint disorder, affecting multiple joints of the body. Amavata is presented with the characteristic features of stiffness in the body, pain and swelling of the involved joints. Amavata shares a lot of similarities with that of Rheumatoid Arthritis of Modern parlance. The incidence of Rheumatoid arthritis is 3 cases per 10,000 populations per annum with women affected three to five times more than men. Many efforts have been done since several years to find out an effective remedy for this ailment in all the medical fraternity. Involvement of Tridoshas attached with ama, along with the contribution of multiple Dhatus and associated with Malas makes amavata. Many preparations are available today which have cost effective ingredients and aiming best towards the illness. Shamanoushadhi an attempt to understand the disease, pathophysiology and available intervention and its advantages and limitation.
