A REVIEW ON HERBAL NAIL POLISH FROM DIFFERENT NATURAL COLORING PIGMENTS

ABSTRACT

Cosmetics are in huge demand in early days. There are various types of cosmetic products used for skin care such as talcum powder, hair dyes, lipsticks, perfumes, deodorants, nail polish, nail polish remover etc. Nails protect the terminal phalanx of the digit from injury, it is used for protection. There are different nail cosmetics like nail hardeners, polishes, nail extensions, artificial nails & nail decorations. Here in this article we have focused on Herbal Nail polish. Nail polish or nail varnish or nail enamel is a lacquer & it can be applied on fingernail or toenail of human being to decorate & protect the nail plates. They are available in different shades. We have discussed in detail the anatomy of nails, ideal characteristics of nail polish, advantages of nail polish, composition of nail polish & various naturally occurring colorants which can be used to prepare herbal nail polishes, method of preparation of nail polish, evaluation & defects in nail polish preparation.
