Abstract

A REVIEW ARTICLE ON KIKKISA (STRIAE GRAVIDARUM)

ABSTRACT

Pregnancy is a very beautiful time in a woman’s life. During pregnancy there are profound anatomical and physiological changes to adopt and support the entire period. Kikkisa is considered as one among Garbhini Vyadhi which is a type of skin disease. Kikkisa is compared to Striae gravidarum, which is a physiological condition occurring in second trimester of pregnancy.[1] Woman in this present era is very conscious about their appearance. Even a small scar mark can cause psychological stress so there are medications and diet in Ayurveda which helps in the condition of Kikkisa will be a boon for the women.
