Abstract

EFFECT OF DIFFERENT CARBON AND NITROGEN SOURCES ON THE MYCELIAL GROWTH AND YIELD OF PROTEIN BY THE MYCELIA OF PARENTAL AND FUSANT PROTOPLASTS CULTURE OF VOLVARIELLA VOLVACEA

Aditi Chatterjee* and N. Samajpati

ABSTRACT

The data on the effect of different sources of carbon revealed that starch is the best source for the mycelial growth and yield of protein by the parental and fusant protoplasts culture of V.volvacea. This was followed by Cellulose and glucose. The data on the effect of different sources of nitrogen revealed that potassium nitrate is the best source for the mycelial growth and yield of protein by the parental and fusant protoplasts culture of V.volvacea. This was followed by asparagine and peptone.

Keywords: V.volvacea, carbon sources, nitrogen sources, mycelial growth, yield of protein, parental and fusant protoplasts culture.
