Abstract

A REVIEW-AGNIKARMA - A PARA-SURGICAL PROCEDURE

ABSTRACT

Ayurveda is an ancient system of health science. Health is main priority of this system which aims at prevention of disease, cure of disease and improvement of life style. In this system various treatment modalities are used like medicine, surgery and also other para surgical procedure like Raktmokshana and Agnikarma etc. It is similar procedure like thermal cauterization in modern science. Agnikrama is important and superior among other procedure. Agnikrama is mainly indicated in pain-full condition hence it is good alternative in disease with painful condition. Where painkiller are used in modern science. Various material is used for agnikrama are called as a Dahana uapkarna. Material i.e Dahan Uapkarna and site of Agnikrama is decided on upon type of disease.
