ABSTRACT
Herbs for the prevention and nourishment of liver disease have a special for spicy, which can help expelling of the wind (VATA) in the concept of Thai traditional medicine with dyspepsia and abdominal disorders. The liver is a very important organ in Thai traditional medicine. Because of the belief in body heat (PITA), the herb is an indigestion remedy that contains quercetin. Some herbs, such as saffron, rosella, fenugreek, turmeric, etc., have been found to contain chemicals that help maintain normal liver cells to support the system. However, they are poorly soluble in water, resulting in low bioavailability (BA). The Self-emulsifying Drug Delivery System (SEDDS) is the delivery of active drugs to the target organs rather than normal administration, which are enhancing soluble of active that are lipophilicity (poorly water solubility). This method can enhance the novelty. Advanced research shows that BA is present in 60–70% of cases that are satisfaction of patient. Finally, herbs are another factor in the treatment or maintenance of the liver, but the process of drug delivery, such as drug delivery system, administration of drug, solubility, etc., has important therapeutic effects as well.
