Abstract

CASE STUDIES ON DIABETES

ABSTRACT

Diabetes is a disorder in which the production of insulin (a peptide hormone which controls glucose levels in body) is disturbed, due to which glucose is not properly utilized into the body cells and cells can't meet their energy needs. So fat cells and protein cells are the energy sources in this situation, which results in increased ketones in body. Due to this protein act as energy source, thus, patient feel mentally & physically tired. In the government contemplate, it was found that there were around 72 million cases of diabetes in India. i.e. 11.8% Ages most commonly affected are Adults (41-60 yrs) & seniors (60+ yrs) . This disorder generally could be either insulin dependent which also called as juvenile onset diabetes or non insulin dependent diabetes that is also called adult onset diabetes mellitus. One of the symptoms of the diabetes with patient of diabetes is having smell of rotten apple from his mouth due to the increased ketone production or swelling in the foot also may occur due to improper blood circulation. As a result, fluid gets trapped in certain parts of body such as legs, ankles & feet etc.
