ABSTRACT
The goal of this study was to develop and test a herbal gel comprising Nigella sativa Linn., extract. The gel formulation was created by varying the amounts of methanolic and chloroform extracts of Nigella sativa seeds (2, 4 and 6 percent). Carbopol 940 (1 percent w/v), Nigella sativa extract, ethanol, propylene glycol 400, methyl paraben, propyl paraben, EDTA, tri-ethanolamine, and purified water were used to make the gel. To determine toxicity or side effects, the produced gels were examined for physical appearance, pH, and spreadability. The findings suggested that gel compositions had an excellent look and
homogeneity. In all respects, the 4 percent methanol and 6 percent chloroform formulations were determined to be superior than the other two. As a result, it can be employed as a therapeutic and medication delivery system alternative.
