Arthritis flare-ups are a possibility. Calcium pyrophosphate deposition disease is a kind of arthritis that is becoming more common among the elderly. The development of Calcium Pyrophosphate Deposition Disease crystals in articular cartilage causes significant cartilage degradation and loss of joint function.
