REVIEW ARTICLE ON “AN IMPORTANCE OF HERBAL DRUG IN DIABETES MELLITUS”

ABSTRACT

Diabetes mellitus is metabolic disorders which characterized by hyperglycemia due to which increase on glucose production, decreased insulin secretion and impaired insulin. Traditional medicines worldwide suggested that a wide range natural remedies for prevention and treatment of chronic disorders, including diabetes mellitus. There are lots of chemical agents available to control and to treat diabetic patients but total recovery from diabetes has not been reported upto this date. Alternative to these synthetic agent many herbal plant with hypoglycemic properties are known across the world. A list of medicinal plants with proven antidiabetic and related beneficial effect and herbal drug used in the treatment of diabetes mellitus, the use of herbal medicine in diabetes is promising but still far from proven the purpose of this article is to examine the effect of herb medicine in the treatment of diabetes.
