A REVIEW ON CANAGLIFLOZIN AND ITS ANALYTICAL METHODS

ABSTRACT
Canagliflozin is a sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitor (SGLT2) inhibitor used to manage hyperglycaemias in type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM). Also used to reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events in patients with established cardiovascular disease and type 2 DM. Sold under the brand name Invokana among others, is a medication used to treat type 2 diabetes. It is a third-line medication to metformin. It is used together with exercise and diet. It is not recommended in type 1 diabetes . It is taken by mouth. This review provides the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamics of the Canagliflozin, which also includes the review on pharmaceutical analytical techniques like UV spectrometry, High performance liquid chromatography, Bio-analytical techniques with the impurities, pharmaceutical dosage forms, methods for determination and validation.
