Abstract

ETHOSOMES:- A NOVEL DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM

ABSTRACT

Transdermal drug delivery system is an important drug delivery system that involves delivery of drug at predetermined rate. This system which enables in rate controlled administration of drugs through intact skin became available in 1981.In TDDS vesicular carriers are widely used in that ethosomes gives number of advantages including enhancement of drug efficiency, patient compliance. Ethosomal carrier system avoid the harmful effects associated with invasive procedures like iv infusion. Ethosomal system are the ethanolic phospholipids vesicle useful in delivery of drugs with low permeation ability through skin to blood circulation. It provides various opportunities for research and further evolution of novel drug delivery.
