A REVIEW ON ANALYTICAL METHODS FOR QUANTIFICATION OF CAPECITABINE

ABSTRACT

A survey of analytical techniques for determination of Capecitabine, a fluoropyrimidine carbonates with antineoplastic activity. It is in a class of drugs known as anti- metabolites which are utilized in the therapy of metastatic breast and colorectal cancers. Furthermore, the medication has been qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed in various delivery system. In this specific situation, a few methodologies were reported focusing in on the advancement of analytical and development of new ones. Most of the published method relied upon High performance liquid chromatography; also Ultraviolet spectrophotometric, High-performance thin-layer chromatography, and Ultra performance liquid chromatography techniques were utilized for estimation of Capecitabine. This survey presents a summary of techniques utilized in the evaluation of Capecitabine that might give idea to the analysts who are working in the space of analytical research of Capecitabine.
