ABSTRACT
The chorioallantoic membrane is a vascular membrane found in eggs of some amniotes The novelty of the amniotic egg is the presence of three extra-embryonic membranes, amnios, chorion, and allantois, which surround the embryo, mediate between it and the environment, and provide an aqueous medium to complete development and ontogenetic program inside the eggshell this review represents the application of CAM in the field of neurosurgery disease. The CAM is a valuable alternative to rodent in vivo models for the study of angiogenesis and invasiveness of glioma, gene and protein expression in tumor formation, screening antiglioma drugs, origin and treatment of vascular anomalies, and differentiation of the BBB. There are some limitations in the application of the CAM, including nonspecific inflammatory reactions and less specific antibodies available.
