ABSTRACT
COVID-19 presents mainly as pulmonary disease. Skin manifestations also have been noticed including reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus. We presented this study since herpes zoster occurred after Covaxin vaccination. Our case describes a male adult developing herpes zoster after vaccination with Sputnik Light vaccine. These new cases do not prove causality between COVID-19 vaccination and HZ. The pathophysiologic mechanism remains elusive, but a possible cause for this reaction might be a transient lymphocytopenia that occur after the receipt of the COVID-19 vaccine. The occurrence of HZ does not justify avoiding the second injection of vaccine due to the benefit of vaccination. Further studies are required to evaluate a possible
relationship between COVID-19, COVID-19 vaccines, and herpes zoster.
