Abstract

REVIEW: INNOVATIONS IN SPRAY DRYING PROCESS

ABSTRACT

Spray drying is broadly involved fluid atomization-based procedures for production and formulation of dry powder inhalation. Spray drying is used in production of fine powder from emulsion, solution, gel or paste. The creation of nanostructured microparticles by utilizing spray drying has grown later. The worth of the particles is that they stay mindful of the properties of individual nanoparticles yet they are micrometer measured. We have covered the fluid atomization method - spray drying exhaustively, and some benefits of using spray drying and recent advances in spray drying technology and commercial spray dryer used in labouratory with their specification. spray drying processes is useful in increasing the solubility of poorly water soluble drugs, it also improves the texture, flow property and particle size of the API. In spray drying technique process parameters are most important which is responsible for the particle morphology and for other parameter. The most important advantage of spray drying is that it is well suited for thermolabile product or heat sensitive product. Process parameter affect the particle size includes drying air flow rate, air humidity, inlet temperature, etc which are fundamental for spray drying are additionally examined and the new advances in spray drying which makes the process simpler and quicker are likewise talked about, for example, computational enhancement in which physical properties of resulting product can be controlled. The computational optimization strategy assists with playing out all the main product quality tests during spray drying in a solitary operation.
