ALOE VERA: AN ANCIENT REMEDY OF MODERN DENTISTS

ABSTRACT
Objectives. Review the composition, actions, and clinical use of Aloe vera plant by a dentist and find its effectiveness as an important supplement in the treatment of dental diseases. How. Manual and electronic literature searches (MEDLINE, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, and Google Scholar) searches were conducted until July 2013 in in vitro and in vivo studies and studies presenting clinical, microbiological, immunological, and with the patient to ensure the effectiveness of Aloe vera gel at the dentist. A total of 38 topics, summaries, and full text lessons were selected and reviewed.
Aloe vera has various therapeutic properties such as anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, and antitumor that accelerate wound healing and help in the treatment of various oral ulcers. The benefits associated with Aloe vera have been attributed to the polysaccharides contained in the leaf gel. Conclusion. The medicinal properties of Aloe vera have been reaffirmed in modern science by various in vivo and in vitro studies. The remedy is as powerful as toothpaste. Although Aloe vera is a promising herb used in various medical and dental clinics, further medical research needs to be done specifically to confirm and explain the action of acemannan hydrogel to accelerate the healing of aphthous ulcers and to ensure the effectiveness of Aloe plaque, gingiv and gingiv gel. to be established in the field of dentistry.
