Abstract

SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERISATION, ANTIMICROBIAL EVALUATION OF THIAZOLIDINE-4-ONE DERIVATIVE

ABSTRACT

A new series of 2-phenyl-3-(pyridin-yl)-thiazolidine-4-one derivatives were synthesized by the reaction of schiff base (2-aminopyridine and 4-dimethyl amino benzaldehyde) with mercaptoacetic acid respectively. The chemical structures of the synthesized compounds were confirmed by means of IR, 1H-NMR. . The synthesized compounds showed good antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.
