Abstract

ANALYTICAL STUDY OF TRIPHALADI GHRITA- A POLYHERBAL AYURVEDIC FORMULATION

ABSTRACT

Triphaladi Ghrita is an Ayurvedic formulation mentioned in Yog Ratnakar in the management of Timira. The contents of this Ghrita are Triphala, Vasa, Bhringraj, Madhuka, Draksha, Mulethi, Kantakari, Kshirakakoli, Nagkesar, Pippali, Chandana, Nagarmotha, Traymana & Utpala. It contains drugs having properties such as Tridoshahara, Chakshushya and Rasayana. This Triphaladi ghrita was prepared by following the classical method of Ghrita kalpana mentioned in Sarangadhar Samhita. This paper presents the analytical study of the formulation showing remarkable results regarding Refractive index, saponification value, iodine value, peroxide value etc.
