DICLOFENAC – A POTENT DRUG OF CHOICE IN PAIN MANAGMENT: A REVIEW

ABSTRACT

Diclofenac Sodium (NSAID) is one of the series of phenylacetic acids that has demonstrated anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties in pharmacological studies. It is thought to inhibit the enzyme cyclooxygenase, which is essential in the biosynthesis of prostaglandins. Diclofenac sodium is anti-pyretic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory drug. It inhibits PG synthesis by inhibition of COX.[1-4]
