DHUPANA KARMA - PREVENTIVE MEASURE OF COVID-19 FOR AIR BORNE INFECTION (VAYU VISHAKTATA): A REVIEW

ABSTRACT

The entire globe is suffering from COVID-19. Despite lots of efforts, a pandemic of COVID is continuously spreading across the world. At present, no medicine is recommended by WHO to cure COVID-19, but treatments and vaccines are currently using to minimize effect and prevention. The study aims to identify the components that can help prevent and care for Corona Virus and COVID-19. Airborne infections are caused by pathogens transmitted by air by time and distance in form of small particles. In Ayurveda, airborne diseases are correlated with Aupasargika rogas like COVID-19, which spreads very quickly. According to Ayurveda, the most classical, authentic way to prevent transmission is Dhupana Karma, associated with fumigation or sterilization. For this Karma, there are many such Dhupana dravyas explained in vayuvishaktata by Acharya Sushruta in Samhitas.
