A IMPORTANCE OF LOCAL TREATMENT (STANIK CHIKITSA) IN FEMALE AS PER AYURVEDA

ABSTRACT

Ayurvdic Local treatment procedure specialy for female is describe in literature of Ayurveda. Acharya Sushruta has described 60 upkarma, 25 upyantra and 14 Anushastra for the management of wound in different conditions. Uttar basti is included under shasti upkarma and anushastra. Regarding Stri roga Yoni pichu, Yoni dhawan, Yoni parishek, Yoni dhupan, Kshar karma, etc. are quite popular due to its excellent result if followed properly. These Local treatment are simple to do and does not require many instruments, devices, anaesthesia and analgesia. Ayurvedic local procedures have great role to fight against the chronic infectious and non infectious disease of female genital tract. Researches have proved their significant importance in infertility and also to the other ailments of female reproductive tract. Today the increasing burden of cost on healthcare system, demand to search simple cost effective, non recurrent, with no adverse effect, acceptable and effective therapy to combat the challenges of female reproductive health. This is the time to look in the traditional and time- tested knowledge of Ayurveda and their specific procedure.
