Abstract

PHARMACOLOGICAL REVIEW OF PSORIASIS AND ITS SCREENING METHODS

ABSTRACT

Psoriasis is a chronic, non-communicable, disfiguring disease for which there is no cure. There are various types of psoriasis which includes Guttate psoriasis, pustular psoriasis, localized psoriasis(Palmoplantar pustular, acrodermatitis continua of hallopaeu, generalized pustular psoriasis,) erythrodermicpsoriasis, flexural and genital psoriasis, scalp, Inverse and psoriasis vulgaris. The most common trigger for psoriasis is environmental factors, stress factors, and abnormal activation of t cells(immune factor). It is diagnosed by various methods such as x ray, Magnectic resonance imaging, rheumatoid factor, and joint and fluid test. Treatment for psoriasis include aloe Vera, panax ginseng(plants source) corticosteroids, vitamin D analogues, retinoid, cyclosporine, methotrexate, phototherapy, and psoriasis can be induced by both in vivo and Invitro methods to laboratory animals (in vivo) UV radiation at 385nm at vertical distance of 20cm and observed for skin lesion and 5% Imiquimod cream. And (Invitro) western blotting.
