The standardization of procedure is done in the collection of raw material, procedure of shodhana, marana. Acute and sub-acute study of anti-inflammatory activity of Takra mandura in albino rats is seen. The criteria included was percentage of inhibition of swelling produced. The role of takra as anupana is significantly seen in the final result when 2 groups with and without takra was given. In the model of carageenan induced- The test was statistically significant in percentage of swelling inhibition in 1st hour, 3rd hour of test drug. In the model of formalin induced-Group treated with takra mandoora (with buttermilk) and standard drug showed significant reduction in swelling percentage, 76.14% and 76.78% respectively. In the model of turpentine oil- The results showed 77% and 68% inhibition respectively. In the model of cotton pellet-The results showed 65%and 80% inhibition respectively.
