BI LAYER TABLET – AN EMERGING TREND IN THE FIELD OF PHARMACY: A BOON AND BANE

ABSTRACT

The main objective of the review is to highlight the main benefits of the type of oral dosage to decide if bi layer tablet is a bane in the field of pharmacy, the challenges to overcome the shortening of single layer tablets and why the development and production of quality bilayer tablet needs to be carried out and basic challenges faced during bilayer tablet production. This review article also focuses on various advantages, disadvantages of bi layer tablets, its general properties, the rationale of the study i.e. need of study, applications, challenges in manufacture bi layer tablets, various techniques used in manufacturing along with manufacturing processes, evaluation and the approached used in bilayer tablets.
