ABSTRACT
The creation of a targeted drug delivery system has been aided by recent advances in nanotechnology. Targeting a molecule to a specific spot via a drug delivery system, on the other hand, necessitates a specialized drug delivery system. Because they can accommodate both hydrophilic and hydrophobic drugs, the development of nano sponge has become a crucial step in solving some challenges such as drug toxicity, low bioavailability, and predictable drug release. In nature, nanosponges have a porous structure 4that has the unique ability to entrap drug moieties and provide a merit of desire release. The
technology of nano sponges has been extensively investigated for the delivery of drugs for oral, topical, and parental administration. Enzymes, proteins, vaccines, and antibodies can all be transported effectively using nano sponges. The current review focuses on the preparation methods, characterisation, and prospective applications in drug delivery systems.
