Abstract

CLINICAL EVALUATION OF DHANYAKADI LEPA AND MANJISHTHA CHURNA IN THE MANAGEMENT OF YUVANPIDIKA

ABSTRACT

Introduction - Yuvanpidika is the burning problem of this present era. The Shalmali thorn like eruption on the face due to vitiation of Kapha, Vata and Rakta which are found on the face of adolescent are called as Mukhadushika or Yuvanpidika. The present study is designed to evaluate the efficacy of Dhanyakadi Lepa and Manjishtha Churna in the treatment of Yuvanpidika. Method - For the study, 30 patients were selected and registered. Then they were divided into three different groups. In group 1 - Dhanyakadi Lepa application, group 2 - Manjishtha Churna and group 3 - both Dhanyakadi Lepa and Manjishtha Churna were given. It was 30 days trial with follow up after 15 days. Result – In group 1, statistically very significant result was found in number of Pidika In group 2, statistically very significant results were found in number of Pidika and Shotha. In group 3, statistically very significant results were found in number of Pidika, Shotha, Shula, Kandu and Vivarnata. It was observed that average percentage of relief was higher in „group 3‟ that was 70.60% followed by „group 2‟ (57.10%) and by „group 1‟ (48.56%). Conclusion – It shows that effect of therapy was more in group 3 in comparison to group 1 and group 2 it means when Manjishtha Churna and Dhanyakadi Lepa both are used together; they are more effective in subjective parameters.
