Abstract

MICROWAVE ASSISTED SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF 1, 4-DIHYDROPYRIDINES

ABSTRACT

A series of 1,4-Dihydropyridines have been synthesized by microwave irradiation methods in solvent and solvent free condtions using ethyl aetoacetate, various aldehydes and ammonium acetate. The synthesized 1, 4-dihydropyridines (D-1 to D-6) have been purified and characterized by their analytical and spectral (IR, 1H NMR and Mass) data. Microwave assisted synthesis is easy, simple, economical eco-friendly and their reactions are rapid and improved yields and it tolerates variety of substituent’s.
