Abstract

DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION OF SIMULTANEOUS EQUATION METHOD AND Q-ABSORBANCE RATIO METHOD FOR RIZATRIPTAN BENZOATE AND MELOXICAM IN BULK AND SYNTHETIC MIXTURE

Dr. Rajashree Mashru, Yashashree Mane

ABSTRACT

Two simple, precise, accurate and cost effective UV-Spectrophotometric methods were developed and validate for estimation of Rizatriptan Benzoate (RIZA) and Meloxicam (MELO) in bulk and their synthetic mixture. For simultaneous equation method, the estimation of Rizatriptan benzoate and Meloxicam was carried out at 227nm and 363nm for meloxicam. For Q absorption method, estimation of RIZA at 227 nm and MELO at 236.68nm (isobestic point of both the drug). Calibration curve of RIZA and MELO were found to be linear in concentration ranges of 3-11μg/ml and 6-22μg/ml, respectively, with their correlation coefficient value (R2) was more than0.996. In precision study, The % RSD value was found to (RSD <2%).The % recovery at various concentration level varied from 100.79 % to102.89% for RIZA and 97.3% to 103% for MELO by simultaneous equation method. For Q absorption method 101% to 102.74% for RIZA and 98% to 101%for MELO. The Proposed Spectrophotometric method was validated as per the ICH Q2 (R1) guidelines.

Keywords: Rizatriptan benzoate, Meloxicam, Simultaneous Equation Method, Q absorbance Ratio Method, ANOVA, t-Test.
