A REVIEW ON THE ADVANCEMENT IN THE MANAGEMENT OF MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION

ABSTRACT
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the primary cause of mortality globally, with an approximate mortality rate of 18 million deaths every year. Four out of five CVD deaths are due to Myocardial infarction and stroke, which occur prematurely under the age of 70 years. MI being the key component of burden of CVDs, its management is of utmost gravity. Despite substantial advancements in the prognosis in recent years, overall management of MI still remains an arduous task. Recently, there have been significant advancements in the adjunctive pharmacotherapy along with surgical techniques. This paper discusses the substantial topic of management of MI focussing on the latest
advancements in the area.
