Sachin S. Padole*, Ashish S. Moghe, Alpana J. Asnani and Dinesh R. Chaple

ABSTRACT

Nanotechnology is broad and novel technology related to all branches of science. This review is provided a detailed overview of the synthesis, properties, application and toxicities of nanoparticles exist in different forms. Nanoparticles are tiny material having size range from 1 to 100nm. They can be classified into different classes based on their properties, shape, nanoparticles have unique physical and chemical properties due to their high surface area and nanoscale size. Nanoparticles has various commercial and domestic application such as energy-based research, electronic application and environmental application and in Nanomedicine. Nanomedicine and nano delivery systems are a relatively new but rapidly developing science where materials in the nanoscale range are employed to serve as means of diagnostic tools or to deliver therapeutic agents to specific targeted sites in a controlled manner. Heavy metal nanoparticles of lead, mercury and tin are reported to be so rigid and stable that their degradation is not easily achievable, which can lead to many environmental toxicities.

Keywords: Nanoparticles, Toxicity, Nanomedicine.
