Abstract

IN VITRO LARVICIDAL ACTIVITY OF EXTRACTS OF LEAVES OF ANNONA SQUAMOSA

ABSTRACT

The aim of this investigation was to evaluate in vitro larvicidal activity of Annona squamosa leaves extracts by using larvae of culex mosquito. The preliminary phytochemical study shows the presence of tannins, glycosides, alkaloids, terpenoid. The presence of these secondary metabolite might be responsible for larvicidal activity. The larvicidal study shows significant results at different concentration of ethyl acetate extracts of Annona squamosa.with in 8 hours, concentration of 8mg/ml. the current study leads to the conclude that the ethyl acetate extracts of leaves has potent larvicidal activity.
