*Dr. Shraddha S. Bhasarkar, Dr. Vrushali Khandekar and Dr. Sumeeta Jain

ABSTRACT

Ayurveda is the most guaranteed life science since ancient ages. Ayu means longevity and Veda means science. Life depends upon the liver, it is a saying that we have been hearing since ages. The liver is a complex and the largest gland associated with the digestive system in our body. In today’s era, due to the unhealthy, unhygienic and poor dietary habits, it has led to slowing down of metabolic activities. This paradigm shift in the lifestyles of people has promoted hepatic damages which then clinically manifests as kamala roga. As Ayurveda being the way of life aims at prevention from diseases rather than its cure. Ayurveda has also mentioned Swasthavritta and treatment modalities which then help in the management of the disease. The dietary approach mentioned in the Ayurvedic texts is useful in the management of kamala roga. The Ayurvedic texts were studied and the modalities were applied on the patient which was of great use to the patient. This paper aims at bringing forth the improvement in the overall signs and symptoms of patient which was achieved by proper maintenance of his diet and lifestyle.
