Abstract

COMPARATIVE ACTIVITY OF CIPROFLOXACIN AGAINST DIFFERENT STRAINS OF KLEBSIELLA SPECIES

ABSTRACT

The PAEs of ciprofloxacin against two strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae were determined. Growth curves of the organisms were constructed with and without addition of ciprofloxacin at MIC (1 μg/ml) and the two curves were compared. PAEs induced by ciprofloxacin were found to be 4 hours for the two strains tested. It was observed that there is a similar result for the strains.
