ABSTRACT

About 5% of the general population worldwide will have at least one non-febrile seizure in their lifetime.[1] In the United States, it is estimated that 150,000 adults present annually with an unprovoked first time seizure.[2] The distribution of seizure occurrence is bimodal: the peak incidences of seizures are observed during childhood and after the age of 60.[1]
