ABSTRACT
Fenofibrate is an antihypertriglyceride drug that belongs to class II of Biopharmaceutics Classification System (BCS), which has low solubility in water and high permeability lead its dissolution rate is poor and can affect its bioavailability. Preparation of solid dispersion is general method that can be used to increase the solubility of fenofibrate in water, with this process of improving the solubility it is hoped that the dissolution rate of the fenofibrate will be better. In this review article, we will discuss the fenofibrate solid dispersion preparation method and other drugs that are included in BCS class II as an approach to making dispersions on fenofibrate. This article also has
review the type of carriers used and the characteristics of the resulting.
Keywords: Fenofibrate, increased solubility, solid dispersion, dissolution rate, BCS II.
