A REVIEW ARTICLE ON NOVEL FLOATING MUCOADHESIVE MICROSPHERES AND THEIR DEVELOPMENT

ABSTRACT

In the present review article a novel oral drug delivery system was reviewed which combine the effect of two types of drug delivery system i.e. floating system and mucoadhesive system. By combining two different techniques floating and mucoadhesive system we can obtain a controlled system which could remain in the stomach for prolong period and release the drug in a controlled manner. This article focuses on types of systems, various polymers used in the preparation, methods of preparation of microspheres and evaluations of dosage forms.
