CONCEPTUAL STUDY - APPLICATION OF PANCHMAHABHUTA SIDDHANATA IN PANDU ROGA SAMPRAPTI

ABSTRACT

The equilibrium of these five elements in the body denotes health while their imbalance or disturbance denotes disease. Panchmahabhutika Chikitsa is a branch of Ayurveda which bases the analysis and treatment based upon this principle. Panchamahabhuta Siddhanta is a universally accepted theory (Sarvatantra Siddhanta). It is the scientific platform through which pathology of disease, mode of action of medicine as well as explanation of Pathyapathya are based. The internal & external universe is the end result of our multiplication. In diseased condition, the drugs (Dravyas) are used to normalize the body functions are also Panchabhautika in nature. In pandu due to Atisevana of Pitta Pradhana Aahara and Vishara the Agneya Gunas gets increases. It causes Diminishing Pruthvi and Aapa Mahabhuta and further pandu Vyadhi Samprapti happened in the body. Aims and Objectives: To enlightens the basic concept of Panchamahabhuta Siddanta to its conceptual perspective. To understand this concept and utilize it thoroughly in the management of Pandu diseases in clinical practice with some example. Materials and Methods: In this study Ayurveda elementary books were thoroughly searched where the concept of Panchamabhuta Siddanta has been described. To understand this Siddanta it is applied in the management of Pandu. Discussion: Here Teja, Vayu and Akash in vitiated (increased ) state so it will decrease the Pruthvi and Jala Mahabhuta in the body due to that Bala Varna and Ojo Guna Decrease and Due to Vitiated Pitta Dosha, the Alpata of Dhatus takes place and Saithilya develops and Twach Vaivarnya And Dhatu Saithilyata take place in the body and Pandu Roga Lakshana found in the body. Conclusion: In Pandu Teja, Vayu and Akash Mahabhuta gets vitiated so to normalize the this Mahabhuta Pruthvi and Jala Mahabhuta dominated Dravyas are used for Chikitsa.
