EFFICACY OF VACHATEL NASYA IN PRATISHYAYA

ABSTRACT

In shodhankarma Nasya is one of the classical therapy mentioned in Ayurveda. Nasya is also important karma in urdhvajatrugat vyadhi i.e. Pratishyaya. Shir is mula sthan of Pratishyaya. As water nourished all over the tree when poured to its roots, just like thatwhen drug is administered through nasa it acts on mula sthan i.e.Shira and cures Pratishysya. Pratishyaya is indicated for Shirovirechan.Vacha is one of the Shirovirechan dravya told by Sushruta Samhita. In Pratishyaya vikrut dosha is Vata and Kapha, Also due to its tikshna ushna guna vacha acts as kaphashamak, vatashamak. When tel is done by snehapak vidhi due to its vyavai vikasi guna it acts on shirastha vata and kapha. In present styudy is focused on Effect Of Vachatel Nasya In Pratishyaya.
