Abstract

BASTI PURNA CHIKITSA: CONCEPTUAL STUDY OF VARIOUS TYPES OF BASTI IN SAMHITAS

ABSTRACT

In Ayurveda, there are various types of chikitsa are explained, One of them are Shodhana chikitsa. Shodhana chikitsa includes the Snehana, Swedana, Vamana, Virechana, Basti, Nasya and Raktamokshana. Basti oragan of animal is used for administration of procedure so called as Basti. Basti is pradhana chikitsa of vata. Acharyamentioned various types of Basti on the basis of their content, uses benefits. Basti has multidimentional activity like preventive aspect, promotive aspect, curative aspect, rejuvinative aspect, psychological aspect and it is applicable in all season. at every age group and in every disease condition.
