Hence Taaramandoora guda is selected to test for its protective action on colon mucosa through experimental study. Methodology: The test drug was evaluated for protective action on Ulcerative Colitis induced by intra rectal administration of acetic acid in wistar albino rats. The results were analyzed by the application of suitable statistical methods. Result: The test drug Taaramandoora guda showed statistically significant reduction in ulcer index, significant increase in weight and non significant reduction in serum C-Reactive protein level.
