Abstract

ANALYSIS OF SLEEPING PATTERN DURING COVID-19 LOCKDOWN

ABSTRACT

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic is an unprecedented health crisis as entire populations have been asked to self-isolate and live in home-confinement for several weeks to months which makes individuals exposed to stressful situations. The stressful situations are related to changes in sleeping pattern. With this aim, the study analysis of ‘Sleeping pattern during COVID-19 lockdown’. Methodology: The Google survey form was administered and the data were collected. The data was analysed by using Instate excel sheet. Result: The study found 17.8% were in rural, 44.8% were in Panchayat and 37.3% were in city. Social history results 97.5% were non-alcoholic and non- smoker. The average minutes to fall in sleep during lockdown period was measured and found that, 41% of population were taking 15 minutes and 35.3% were in 30 minutes for fall in sleep. Conclusion: In this paper we summarize the effect of COVID-19 lockdown and sleeping pattern. We analyse the before and after scenario of sleep pattern in people with aim of interrupting the relation between sleep problems and lockdown. We highly recommend adapting healthy strategies to deal with the possible illeffects. Telecounselling is a suggestive plan for the affected population.
