LITERARY REVIEW OF MANIBANDHA MARMA VIDDHA WITH CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME

ABSTRACT

In human body, marma is a point located at the intersection of vein, muscles, joints, bones, ligaments or tendon. Marma points are considered to be vital points. Because, they are influenced with pran and influenced by consciousness. manibandha marma is belongs to rujakar and shakhagat marma. It is located at wrist joint. Therefore, manibandha marma is related with median nerve. Median nerve is the only nerve that passes through carpal tunnel. In the carpal tunnel syndrome, median nerve is compressed or squeezed as it travels to wrist joint. So aghat on manibandha marma can be result in carpal tunnel syndrome. Manibandha marma viddha lakshanas can be compared with carpal tunnel syndrome lakshanas. Now a days, modern medicines causes side effects on human health. So, it is better to treat patient with ayurvedic treatment. If Manibandha marma viddha lakshanas occur in carpal tunnel syndrome then, this study helps to prove manibandha marma viddha condition can results in carpal tunnel syndrome, it will be treatable with ayurvedic marma chikitsa before it results in surgical treatable carpal tunnel syndrome.
