Abstract

DIETARY PATTERN OF OVERWEIGHT WOMEN IN JAUNPUR DISTRICT

ABSTRACT

The present study entitled “Dietary pattern of overweight women in Jaunpur district” was carried out with the objective to find out the dietary pattern of the overweight women. In this research select the 30 adult women (25- 45 years) were selected through the random sampling method from Samodhpur, Jaunpur (U.P.). Overweight women’s dietary pattern was assessed by gathering information on the Dietary intake, Food frequency, and RDA was used in order to collect data from the selected respondents. It was found that 70 percent respondents overweight. It was found that 60 percent respondents were vegetarian, 16.66 percent respondents were vegetarian and 23.33 percent respondents were Ovo-vegetarian. Maximum respondents 30 percent of the respondents followed the pattern Breakfast +Lunch +Snacks + Dinner. The nutrient intakes of selected respondents such as carbohydrate, fiber, iron and calcium were lesser than RDA. The intake of nutrients such as energy, fat, and protein were higher according to RDA. The findings of the present study indicate that dietary pattern of selected women Jaunpur district was poor.
