Abstract

VARIOUS APPLICATIONS OF EXTRACTED BACTERIAL PIGMENTS

ABSTRACT

The natural orangish-yellow coloured pigment produced by isolated and identified bacteria Kocuria rosea was extracted and used for various applications like dyeing of fabric, visual living art, candle, paper, nail paint, sketch pen, antimicrobial activity, and bio-ink. The pigment produced in shades of yellow-orange was categorized as carotenoids. Thus the current study deals with an approach of developing and improving the production of pigments from bacterial species for their commercial use in various fields.
