ABSTRACT
In present day pharmaceutical innovation the continued and controlled
medication exchange frameworks are the more celebrated frameworks.
Presentation of framework measurements structure as supported
release(SR) has given another leap forward for novel dynamic
substance move framework in the field of Pharmaceutical innovation.
Diltiazem was generally indicated for the management of chronic stable
angina. The sustained release (SR) form of the drug has been found to
result in better compliance. The medication and the excipient
compatability examines are finished by utilizing the FTIR studies. Dry
granulation method with the help of excipients was attempted for the
formulation development of matrix tablets of Diltiazam. The tablets
were characterized for various parameters like bulk density, tapped density, Angle of repose,
Hauner’s ratio, carr’s index. All results are within the limits and tablets were evaluated for
thickness, weight variation, friability, Disintegration and dissolution studies. The formulation
F7 shows the sustained-release matrix tablets of diltiazem.
Keywords: Diltiazem, Matrix tablets, HPMC, EC, Dry granulation, Invitro studies.
