ABSTRACT
Metal complexes have been applied as medicinal agents in the treatment of different human infections and diseases. In this paper the complexation reaction between Mn (II) metal cation with tetracyclin and ampicillin was studied in different micellar systems using the conductometric method. Molar and specific conductance of complexes of Mn (II) with tetracyclin and ampicillin have been investigated in six different solvents viz. Water, Alcohol, water + alcohol (1:1), HTAB, SDS and Triton-x-100. It has been observed that the molar conductance is affected by solvent systems. The interaction of tetracycline and ampicillin in micellar systems as well as alcohol water mixture with Mn (II) metal cation has been found to form complexes in
1:1 and 1:2 metal to ligand ratio. The Mn (II) complexes with tetracyclin have maximum values of specific and molar conductance in water and HTAB system While in case of ampicillin the Mn (II) complexes have maximum values of specific conductance and molar conductance in HTAB and triton-x -100 systems.
